I want to give a serious shout out to Shante, who was staffing the desk and managing more or less alone when I arrived, bedraggled and disoriented from a wonderful but very long road trip. I had made the reservation via my phone a couple hours earlier, when I'd stopped for gas and realized that the rain and fog and dark of the mountains were too much for me to go much further than Radford. However, when I first spoke with Shante at the desk, she informed me that the hotel was full up and my reservation had not been confirmed. I checked my email and showed her the confirmation, but there was obviously some glitch. Usually I book directly with the property, but this time I had used Booking.com. Shante offered to help me find alternative lodging, and I really just needed a minute to collect myself, so she allowed me to sit in the lobby while I tried to figure out what was next and use Google Maps on my phone to see what was nearby (and what the ratings were) and nothing close looked promising. I was just about to call home to get some advice when Shante came over to me and told me that, as it was close to the end of business day (11:30 at this point), and they had one no-show with a declined card, she had gotten permission to sell me the unclaimed and unpaid-for room. I was so relieved I was near tears. A very kind act when I really needed one, and I slept so soundly I missed breakfast and almost missed regular checkout, but thank you Shante! (And I did get some coffee; the Lavazza is just fab.) (And I did have time to squeeze in a 5 minute swim to stretch out after driving from Atlanta. Then a nice hot shower and a really good snooze.)

Very smart, streamlined, efficient, and contemporary design of rooms, furniture, and spaces. Clean and newish looking and the main lobby has fun games like billiards and shuffleboard that my kids loved. I loved the fact that there were fresh apples, oranges, and bananas offered throughout the day. I was pleasantly surprised to see Lavazza coffee offered but unfortunately it was made a little too weak, and lukewarm at times (maybe it was only later in the day). Staff was friendly and the place had a youthful, colorful, fun and welcoming vibes . The hotel is located in a semi-undeveloped/rural looking place that actually was a plus to me as I’d rather looking at peaceful and refreshingly green fields and hills than nondescript urban development/sprawl. We came here for a swim meet at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center, and depending on the time of day, it took anywhere from 9-15 minutes to drive there.

We've stayed at this hotel a few times before. The hotel is comfortable and clean. The pool is perfect for relaxing. Breakfast is always yummy; the kids love the pancake conveyor belt machine. We had to move our reservation due to weather and the staff, specifically Leila, was kind, friendly, helpful, and patient with me. She went above and beyond to help me navigate booking.com customer service (who was not the most helpful). We love this hotel and will definitely stay again!

Right away upon entering we were greeted with a very friendly front desk gal who was so welcoming. She had just made popcorn and was making cookies. It was the fastest checkin I've ever experienced! The bright atmosphere was so nice! Our room was so clean and the beds were very comfortable. I even wondered if the pillow was one someone had left behind because it was so comfortable! We had breakfast the next morning and it was delicious! Lots of variety! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Second time staying here – very convenient off Route 81 - nice area, but no restaurants right nearby. 10 minute drive down toward Radford University are several. We always go to Macadoo’s – never busy and it’s fun. Hotel is very clean and up to date. Breakfast was decent. One tip- ask for a room at the back of the hotel- odd numbered room- the front of the hotel is very noisy at night. Big trucks and cars on the road right in front and we aren’t far from 81.
